When I moved to Santiago de Compostella I began with 28,6 Lbs (13 kilo’s) on my back. Everybody told me personally which was far too heavy for a women. However I am a strong girl… After the first day, 2o miles in the heat of the Spanish sun..I hated my ‘load’. I sent 11 Lbs (2,5 kilo’s) home and one day later on yet another 2.2 Lbs (1 kilo). By that time my legs where strong enough te have a backpack of 11 Lbs (9,5 kilo). Getting rid of the load was really getting rid of the good deal of sorrow.. that’s the way the Camino works!
I got used to wear my blue blouse on the even days and my yellow blouse on the odd days. As well as for special occasions I had one orange shirt with a Spanish bull on it, which I had bought in Leon (Spain). It’s amazing that you can reside your own live with just 11 Lbs.
However as the sun was steaming hot, I had to wash my stuff daily. As well as I didn’t want to wear a can of liquid soap (that would definitely easily be 1,1 Lbs..). So I purchased this lovely laundry soap kit. This Phosphate Free As well as Biodegradable Product Is Great For Travel On The Go. As well as every morning it was a joy to wear my fresh blue or yellow blouse.
